Greenville County Councilman Tony Trout has asked for a jury trial in his complaint alleging that two council colleagues slammed a door on his face and arm during a meeting last month of a council committee formed to monitor investigations of him.
Trout has asked two magistrates to award him $7,000 each from councilmen Bob Taylor and Fred Payne to cover pain, doctor bills and "public humiliation," according to the complaint.
Payne and Taylor declined to comment. Attempts to reach Trout on Friday were unsuccessful.
Both of Trout's complaints now are in Magistrate Robert F. Simms' Greer office. No response had been filed by Friday.
The complaint stems from an episode last month in which Trout pushed his way into an executive session of a committee meeting called by council Chairman Butch Kirven to discuss the impact on county personnel of the investigations of Trout.
