Summit Entertainment plans a fall 2009 release date for "Astro Boy," its computer-generated revival of the 1950s Japanese animation character.
The studio has set October 23 as its opening date for the pic, taking a page from fall animated releases like Exodus/The Weinstein Company's "Igor," which opened to $8 million this past weekend.
