Help my sister solve how to Back up Songs and Videos to PC with iTouch Transfer?

My sister recently purchased the new video ipod and had her music transferred onto it. She was trying to transfer music from my PC to Mac using the ipod as a hard drive when she was shocked to find out that you cannottransfer music from her ipod back to itunes and her computer.
